XAL and Wever&Ducré illuminate the Villa Mayfair in Barcelona. “See the Light” is how they have named their participation, exhibiting the latest lighting pieces in the mansion.

International lighting firms XAL and Wever&Ducré have decided to collaborate and present their new collections in the The Creation House project. Villa Mayfair, as the residence is called, was built in Barcelona in 1910 by the architect Enric Sagnier. It is so beautiful and unique that it is listed as an architectural heritage site of the city. Its style is British-inspired, as the original family was English, and it has modernist details.

From the Gallery floor of the Villa you can see inside the swimming pool thanks to its transparent bottom, with an elegant and luxurious touch.

In 2015 the interior designer Cristina Rodríguez, fell in love with the mansion and decided to start the project to reform it with some of the most renowned brands that wanted to exhibit their creations. This work is totally collaborative, with a team of engineers and architects supporting The Creation House. In addition to the XAL and Wever&Ducré firms lighting the Mayfair Villa, hundreds of brands also furnish the building with their creations.

In the case of lighting, Xal and Wever&Ducré have been integrated into the ambitious project, illuminating different rooms of the 600m2 spread over three floors. These brands add a very modern touch that fits in perfectly with the architectural style of the building. Villa Mayfair is conceived as a hub of creativity, where customers and distributors can learn about and be inspired by the latest novelties, new concepts or technologies used to create.

Move It, the aluminium profiles in the ceiling, are one of the lighting systems that make up the Villa. They can be ceiling, wall or suspension mounted, designed in an industrial way.

XAL has presented its latest launches, on the one hand, Jane, a “rope of light” that creates different compositions thanks to its wide range of accessories. This piece is made of silicone, and can be anchored to the wall or suspended from the ceiling.   It is a very creative and easy to adapt piece, and also fits perfectly in any space. In addition to Jane, the Austrian firm is also present on a technical level with Move It, a black magnetic rail system that allows flexibility with its projectors and modules. In addition, they also have the Ino lamp.

The Ino lamp illuminates and decorates suspended rooms. Its ring shape is powder coated in white, and the LEDs are highly efficient, projecting the light in an inward-facing direction.

Jane illuminates in a very innovative way Villa Mayfair, its great flexibility allows to compose any shape to give light, as well as to decorate the interior in a very new way.

As for Wever&Ducré, we can find in the villa’s library the Finlinlin, a very characteristic lighting for its fine lines of indirect light and the sensation of warmth it projects. In common areas such as the garden, Sara and Stipo are on display, and in the dressing room Wiro, which brings an industrial and masculine style to the room;

The Austrian and Belgian firms, which have belonged to the same group since 2011, want to strengthen their presence in Barcelona, as the city is a benchmark in the world of design. In addition, it is home to a wide range of companies in the field of lighting and decoration. In this way, they want to stand out and continue to be a benchmark in the field of lighting. They collaborate with designers and architects who work with new technological advances, and apply them to their creations;
