The sixth edition of the UVNT Art Fair will be held from 24 to 27 February with the participation of 32 galleries and more than 100 artists.
The most important contemporary art fair in Spain returns with its sixth edition. It arrives with more galleries, more spaces and a new name: the celebration known as Urvanity Art now called UVNT is a space where you can get to know artistic languages that do not understand labels and discover new trends in the art world.
This new installation of UVNT will take place at the usual venue of the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid (COAM), from 24 to 27 February. The fair brings us the latest in contemporary creation from national and international galleries from New York, Buenos Aires or Amsterdam among others.
After five editions, UVNT has matured: “we haven’t changed as a fair, but we have evolved. We want to explore fresher languages, integrate other aesthetic codes and seek new trends in the art world, and this is represented by emerging artists as well as mid-career artists and big names,” explains Sergio Sancho, the event’s director.
In addition, with the aim of promoting these young and emerging artists, the fair has the Young Galleries section dedicated to promoting young artists who are making a name for themselves in the market.
This year, they also have a subversive and innovative experience from Formica Group. The Lab space will be transformed into an organic forest thanks to the company’s lamination, which will fuse new textiles, ceramics, graphic works… All in the same sustainable space, which will allow the public to enter into the most artistic nature.
The history of UVNT
In five years, UVNT has hosted 70 galleries of which more than half come from outside Spain. More than 350 artists have participated, including names such as Ana Barriga, Filip Custic and Flavia Junqueira. The last edition in May 2021 brought together more than 8,000 visitors, and over the years there have been more than 40,000 visitors.
And as in all editions, the event is formed by a team of curators who carefully examine the projects carried out in public spaces and the exhibition proposals of the galleries.
This year’s sponsors include Mahou, Las Rozas Village, Formica Group, Organics by Red Bull and Zadig&Voltaire Fragrances.
