El wiskey de Tennessee lanza la gama “Bonded Series”, de dos destilados muy especiales: Jack Daniel’s Bonded y Jack Daniel’s Triple Mash, ambos con 50º .
If you ask us for three brands of whiskey from the U.S., without a doubt, one of them will be Jack Daniel’s. Iconic brand, universal brand, which throughout its almost 160 years of history has created a legion of followers -each year the distillery is visited by more than 300,000 people– who identify with both its aromas and flavors. So different from any other Bourbon, as well as for its personal black aesthetics and white typography, so characteristic.
The founder of the brand of Lynchburg, Tennessee, which gives it its name, Jack Daniel, was born in September 1850 and was the son of a Welsh family of 13 siblings. Jack died very young still, from septicemia because of an infection that, it is said, occurred in his big toe, kicking his safe because he could not open it. Daniel was succeeded by his nephew Lem McCloud, (created the first distillery registered in North America) who re-founded the company and was the origin of its current situation.
Jack Daniel’s is in the news because it launches the first expansion in 25 years of its Super Premium range, with two first permanent expressions of the new “Bonded Series”. These are two very special whiskies, “Jack Daniel’s Bonded” and “Jack Daniel’s Triple Mash”. They fall under the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, which stated that: Whiskey must be distilled by a single distiller. During a season, matured at least four years, and bottled at 50º alcohol by volume.
Chris Fletcher, Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller and author of these novelties, explains:
“Jack Daniel’s Bonded and Triple Mash are a nod to our heritage with a touch of innovation and craftsmanship. Providing an opportunity for both our friends and new drinkers to explore and discover all that Jack Daniel’s has to offer.”
Jack Daniels Bonded remains faithful to the traditional recipe of the house: 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye for aging. The barrels are individually selected according to the color of the flavor and deeper aromas, which contribute to the whiskey. To leave a much darker character, tasty, and above all that bears the imprint of the oak. The result is a Tennessee whiskey with 50 ° alcohol notes of caramel, oak and spices, with a very long, pleasant and persistent finish.
Jack Daniel’s Triple Mash, results from bottling at 50º to three whiskeys already distilled, aged and bottled at the same time. 60% Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye; 20% Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey; and 20% Jack Daniel’s American Malt. The result is an extraordinary whiskey and unlike any other. With aromas of honey malt and oak and a long-lasting finish. And also, and it is an important wink, the two new brands are contained in bottles identical to those Jack Daniel’s had at its founding.
These novelties will not only delight the followers of the legendary whiskey and all those who want to discover it, alone or on the rocks. They are also ideal for two simple cocktails that are highly recommended both as an aperitif and as an after-dinner drink. Taking them as a base for the famous “Boulevardier” or the “Old Amigo”.
