More and more luxury fashion brands are teaming up with sports brands, famous artists and even cartoons and anime. Here is our selection for this autumn;
It’s not the first time we see big fashion brands collaborating with sports brands or with celebrities and celebrities. Union is strength and these alliances are a clear example; a safe formula to achieve greater visibility. The brands have launched new collaborations for this autumn and here we tell you about them.
1-Palomo Spain x Puma: genderless collection;
Spanish designer Palomo Spain teams up with Puma to celebrate self-expression and gender fluidity with an exclusive collaboration. The collection explores team sports and is inspired by the football stars of the 1970s and their glamorous lives off the pitch.
This collection makes reference, in a very subtle way, to Johan Cruyff, the football icon of the 70s who is the perfect embodiment of Palomo Spain’s aesthetic in sport, says Palomo.
With precise lines and timeless colours, this genderless collection, which includes 15 different garments and two pieces of footwear, is rich in retro references while defending gender fluidity.
My goal with this collaboration is to convey our vibe to PUMA while stepping out of my comfort zone in designing sportswear.
Highlights include a cotton and polyester tracksuit, a football-inspired half-zip polo shirt and a nylon coat. Footwear includes a reinterpretation of the PUMA Weekend trainer and the PUMA Nitefox loafer.
2-Givenchy x Disney: back to childhood with 101 Dalmatians
Two iconic brands, Givenchy and Disney present their second collaboration with a limited edition capsule collection inspired by the classic 101 Dalmatians. Among the pieces in the collection are sandals, jackets, printed T-shirts, bags and small leather accessories.
Also available are jewellery such as rings and heart-shaped pendants. Everything has been designed by Matthew M. Williams, Givenchy’s creative director.
Featuring the beloved characters Pongo and Perdita and the infamous Cruella, the collection is an oda to the animated film with a fun Givenchy twist. The colour palette consists of black, white and light pink. One of the standout looks is a pink varsity-style bomber jacket with an embroidered Givenchy logo.
3-First Jacquemus x Nike collaboration: minimalist sportswear
The Jacquemus x Nike collaboration is a clear demonstration that sportswear can also be sexy. It is a reinterpretation of women’s sportswear with a minimalist style inspired by vintage pieces and Nike campaigns from the 90s.
The French designer’s aesthetic represents the love of outdoor sports, which merges with the stylistic line of Nike products.
The collection features dresses, polo shirts, shorts and skirts in shades of white, cream and navy, decorated with the iconic Nike lake in gold.
In addition to clothing, there are also the reinterpreted Nike Humara sneakers. With rubber, suede and leather soles and the sports brand’s swoosh in gold. The collaboration, designed for every body, is the ideal combination of Jacquemus’ natural style and Nike’s performance.
4-Valentino, Zendaya and Lewis Hamilton: pink, pink and more pink.
Valentino will present the Pink PP autumn campaign headed by two international talents and friends of the house: Zendaya and Sir Lewis Hamilton. The brand’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli reduced the colour palette to one shade only: fuchsia pink.
A bold, strong and extravagant colour, a colour to sum up everything I love about fashion and everything I choose to represent. The idea of Pink is liberation from the ordinary, a space to be yourself, a symbol of equality and love.
The choice of Zendaya and Hamilton for the campaign is not arbitrary; Piccioli chose them because they use their voice and talent to unify, integrate and build. Michael Bailey Gates was commissioned to photograph them in a monochromatic space and dressed in head-to-toe pink.
5-Balmain and Comme des Garçons x Pokémon
The Japanese Pokémon franchise is not far behind. It will launch two collaborations with big names in the fashion industry: Balmain and Comme des Garçons.
The Balmain collection consists of clothing items such as T-shirts, jackets, denim trousers and accessories patterned with the brand’s archive designs alongside illustrations of Pikachu. In addition, it also includes several models of sneakers adorned with lightning bolts emulating the Pokémon’s tail. The collaboration is available now and will also be available in virtual format for players of the Pokémon Unite video game.
On the other hand, the collaboration with Comme des Garçons still has no launch date, but some details of the collection are already known. It will feature thirty different designs, such as jackets and printed T-shirts.
6-Lacoste and Venus Williams
Since 1933, the Lacoste crocodile has dressed people from different walks of life, each wearing it in their own way. For the Spring-Summer 2022 collection it presented a campaign, where the brand uses its most iconic pieces to go in a new direction, fresh and full of character. The next chapter features a spontaneous encounter between tennis champion and new brand ambassador Venus Williams and a young fan of the brand.
Irish photographer Ronan Gallagher has been commissioned to capture this dynamic encounter between Williams and the young woman, mixing documentary with the contemporary essence of street fashion. The video is directed by the talented duo, Kenten. The soundtrack to this audiovisual piece is the song Apache by The Sugarhill Gang, which gives a touch of dynamism and humour to the exchange.
7-Gucci and Harry Styles: HA HA HA HA
The pop star Harry Styles, one of Gucci’s best ambassadors, has teamed up with Alessandro Michele, the brand’s creative director, for their first collaborative collection. A capsule that “is born from fun and concludes with a tangible product”. The name of the collaboration is “HA HA HA”, the initials of “Harry” and “Alessandro” which at the same time emulate the sound of laughter.

The collection is an example of the new aesthetic concepts that have emerged in the world of fashion, which put an end to traditional barriers and break with gender stereotypes. It contains numerous characteristic elements of both artists.
It includes coats, jackets, tailoring, bowling shirts, plaid skirts… as well as accessories such as hats and sunglasses, all in order to underline the presence of Styles and Michele without losing the essence of Gucci. .
8-Tommy Hilfiger x Richard Quinn
This autumn sees the arrival of one of the most eagerly awaited collaborations: Tommy Hilfiger x Richard Quinn. The capsule collection is inspired by cultural archetypes such as punk and rock and the most radical aesthetic expressions. It combines Richard Quinn’s signature codes – such as his powerful prints – with Tommy Hilfiger’s classic vision. There will be a total of 40 pieces and is intended to be a celebration of individual style and gender inclusivity.
Tommy and I share the same obsession with prints and fabrics, so naturally it was a joy to balance and combine our respective visions for this collaboration, says Quinn.
Among the pieces in the collection are the Varsity Jacket with the Richard Quinn daisy and the American college-style patches or the padded coats. It will also include sports backpacks and travel bags, as well as accessories such as silk scarves or printed boots.
