The prestige of Silversea Cruises in the world of luxury cruises is more than deserved. A company that always seeks to offer the maximum and most glamorous comfort to its passengers. Wherever you sail, its offer covers the seven continents. From the warmth of the Caribbean to the cold of the Arctic.

But that prestige means a constant renewal of its services and products. And today it is our turn to talk about the wide and select enoteca offered by these ships.

An extensive wine list is the norm on all of the company’s ships.

Silversea, the leading supplier of wines at sea

On Silversea Cruises ships there is always a wide range of wines on board. There are dozens of labels where the main wine regions of the planet are represented. And although, given the shipping company’s relationship with Italy, there is an abundance of transalpine wines, the truth is that you can choose from the most diverse origins and with different types of grapes.

Ready to taste Silversea’s range of wines?

The company can boast of havingthe best wine offer on the high seas. An offer that ranges from the most exquisite to the most bizarre. In some cases tasting them as part of the all-inclusive package, and in others as a premium experience.

Wine and a transatlantic cruise

But it is not only about Silvercruises guests tasting and drinking fantastic wines during their stay. There are even more activities related to the world of wine, such as tastings or the programming of conferences given by experts in the field.

And even more. Between October 18 and October 31, 2018, Silversea’s Silver Whisper ship will sail between Lisbon and Fort Lauderdale on a specialized wine voyage. It will cruise the Atlantic Ocean in a sort of twinning between Old World and New World wines. An event for which the Comitato Grandi Cru d’Italia and the American Fine Wine Competition are partnering.

More wine-themed cruises

Next year there will be more themed cruises sailing off the coast of various wine regions.

In the first of these, the Silver Muse, the company’s flagship, will sail from Auckland on January 20 and arrive on February 2 in Sydney. A voyage where the protagonists will obviously be the wines of New Zealand and Australia.

On February 2, the Silver Whisper will depart from the port of Sydney for Bali, where it will arrive on February 16. Fifteen days of activities and visits that will provide an in-depth understanding of the richness of Australian wines.

In the spring, the Silver Cloud will sail between Lisbon and Amsterdam from May 1 to 13. A voyage that will have stops in places like Oporto, Galicia, Bilbao or Bordeaux, among others. In other words, there will be a bit of everything, sweet, white and red wines with appellations of origin of enormous personality and tradition.

Visits to châteaux and vineyards in Bordeaux are scheduled.

Much of these wines and some others from the south of Portugal and Spain will be the arguments to embark on the last wine cruise that Silversea Cruises will make in 2019. Again it will be the Silver Whisper that will host it, but now going from London to Barcelona, between May 19 and June 2. A voyage on which it will be possible to participate on board in an accredited sommelier course.
