To celebrate the 250 year history of Hennessy, tris Maison of cognac opens in Guangzhou (China) an exposition in which is represented into 1200 sqm a multicultural 360º perspective of the past, present and future of this: the Hennessy 250 Tour. The Opera House Zaha Hadid in Guangzhou, China, has been chosen the place for the inauguration over the month of March until September 2015; but this tour will also include, among the destinations, the New Manege in Moscow (in May), the Lincoln Center in New York (in July), the Circa Gallery in Johannesburg (in August) and in a location yet to be revealed in Paris (in September).

This exhibition will host the main contemporary artists whose works and installations evoke the legacy and experience of the Maison. The exhibition is divided into six chapters, each one illustrated by the work of one or more artists:

Charles Sandison illustrates ‘A tale of two families’, the Hennessy and Fillioux, two dynasties intertwined for seven generations.

Pierrick Sorin illustrates ‘Vitrine Optique’, a piece of theater that reproduces the optical consecrated rituals of terroir (land) and savoir-faire. Accompanies this work a short film about art and manufacture of the cognac Hennessy.

Futura, Shepard Fairey, Os Gemeos, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Tom Dixon and Arik Levy are included in ‘Inspired Encounters’, a selection dedicated to the pioneers of hip hop, street art and design.

Tony Ourisler brings together poetry and sound where the flow of liquid becomes a metaphor of this Maison.

Anton Corbijin reproduces the portraits of the past and present persons who have consolidated the name and spirit of Hennessy.

Constance Guisset recreates a panoramic, interactive and modular stage with live performances and video playback of some artists’ artworks from the countries of this Tour: Yang Yongliang (China), Olga Kisseleva (Russia), Dineo Seshee Bopape (South Africa) and Daniel Arsham (USA).

And Xavier Veilhan plays on a mysterious container of carbon fiber the image of the past and present of this Maison, looking towards the future.
