Sport Hotel Hermitage & Spa reopens its doors in Andorra

After being closed for a few weeks, Sport Hotel Hermitage & Spa, located in the heart of the Pyrenees, reopened its doors on June 2nd to kick off the summer season with countless activities to do and enjoy the wonderful landscape of Andorra.

 

Moving from cold to warm with the same timeless sophistication as always, the iconic Hermitage Hotel 5* continues to provide travellers and tourists with a leisure, gastronomy and wellness offer based on the highest standards of quality, which is always better than quantity.

The hotel has facilities of all kinds. In addition to its 135 Junior Suites, Junior Suites Premium and Hermitage Suites, this summer the hotel is adding private residences to its menu of accommodation. Hermitage Mountain Residences is the hotel’s new concept: a dream stay in an incredible natural setting. It consists of nine residences which, if desired, can be connected to each other or, on the contrary, create a very cosy private atmosphere.

A couple’s getaway has never sounded better! Guests can enjoy a unique intimacy and freedom that is provided by the hotel itself through its facilities and activities. 

The rooms feature 24/7 room service, free coffee and tea service in the room, terrace or balcony, free wifi, pillow menu or sheets made of Egyptian cotton. In addition, hotel guests have daily access to 2h in the spa. The rooms also have a turndown service and a hydromassage bathtub.

Gastronomy, of course, is an indispensable part of any self-respecting trip, and here the experience is elevated to pamper the most demanding palates. Since last December, the hotel has had the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Andorra: Ibaya, which creates a cuisine of sensory and emotional connection.

It is followed by Koy Hermitage, which under the baton of the also starred Hideki Matsuhisa, transports diners to Japan without leaving their seats.

For more casual dining, at the Glass Bar, for example, guests can enjoy contemporary cuisine and delicious cocktails. .

At Sol i Neu, for its part, fish, meats and rice dishes, among others, make up a menu with traditional accents in a space decorated in Andorran style.

And, starting in San Juan, a barbecue service will be openat the outdoor pool, a plan that carnivores won’t be able to turn down.

This activity allows you to fly over the Andorran Pyrenees in a helicopter and then descend the mountains on foot with a guide.

Ebike

The electric mountain bikes are an option that is not yet very common in group getaways, but very good for mountain routes in the privileged surroundings of the hotel’s Resort. The help provided by the electric motor of the bicycles allows everyone to find a route that suits them to enjoy a physical activity in the middle of nature. There is an initial route and an advanced route for those who are more experienced.

Hiking

With a large number of mountain trails, more than 60 peaks above 2,500m, around 70 lakes, Andorra is a country to discover on your own legs and enjoy all the nature that surrounds it. The hotel itself has made a selection of easy, medium and difficult routes, so that everyone can enjoy the landscapes on foot.

4X4 Routes

All-terrain vehicles or 4×4 vehicles allow you to travel through beautiful mountain areas and reach places with breathtaking landscapes, such as viewpoints or lakes. Once you leave the asphalt, the mountain tracks allow you to climb and admire the valley from a different perspective. Natural viewpoints that provide a privileged view of the high mountain environment.

The routes are done with a vehicle of up to six seats and can have a duration of two hours or half a day, you can even combine the journey with the 4×4 with a walking route along a path that runs between lakes.

Vía Ferrata

For the more adventurous there are, very close to the hotel, different routes that allow you to enjoy vertical routes on rock These routes are equipped with aids to progress easily and safely, and there are also different options adapted to different levels. In addition, the hotel provides all the material for the development of the activity.

From the Resort itself, guests can take a comfortable tour of the most emblematic places in Andorra.  Thus, they will also be able to discover the main landscapes, artistic, cultural and historical elements of the country. Once the route has been defined, with the possibility of adapting it to your interests or preferences. A driver with a vehicle of the Hotel will accompany you to the different points of the route.

In the last 60/70 years the village of Soldeu has changed a great deal, an evolution marked by the arrival of skiing and with it the well-known white tourism. The hotel also organises a walk around the village of Soldeu to enjoy the architecture and history of this small village.
