The historic Palazzo Spini Feroni opens its doors to the city of Florence with a unique exhibition devoted to its history.
“Before I moved to Palazzo Spini Feroni, this was one of mine most admired and appreciated buildings of Florence“, said Salvatore Ferragamo describing the Palace; in 1938, it became the headquarters of the company.
From May 8, 2015 to April 3, 2016, in the Palazzon Spini Feroni, in Piazza Santa Trinita in Florence, the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum will host an exhibition of hundred-year history, celebrating the 150 years since Florence was named capital Kingdom of Italy. Palazzo Spini Feroni was elected City Hall in 1865. The exhibition will include important artworks and documents belonging to museums and private collections of all over the world and will speaks about the stories about the palace and its citizens.
The exhibition shows how the architectural and historical values of the building are deeply important for the city of Florence, it also brings the past into the present and emphasizes the connection between the Palazzo Spini Feroni, a magnificent example of medieval architecture that the Ferragamo family have carefully restored to its original splendor; and Florence, a treasure of art, culture and tradition, reflecting Italian lifestyle par excellence, creativity and elegance.
