Ressons Penedès by Cruïlla: a unique festival between vineyards and music

Ressons Penedès will have its first edition this spring with an invitation where music, wineries and cavas converge with an exceptional atmosphere among vineyards and natural heritage of the Alt Penedès.

The first edition of the festival Ressons Penedès by Cruïlla will take place on April 28, 29 and 30, 2023. An event that arises with the intention of combining the local stars of the territory: wine, cava and music. This will be the first major festival that will open the season in an integration of music and wine tourism.

This celebration has a cartel of 36 artists on 21 stages, including wineries and cellars, heritage and the natural areas of the Alt Penedès, where you can find concerts for all tastes, both large format and more intimate format.

The Penedés: a unique setting amidst vineyards and cava

Among the stages that will host the festival are the Elyssia by Freixenet winery, located in a privileged space surrounded by vineyards and with an unparalleled panoramic view, where you can see the entire Penedès and the mountain, Montserrat. This building was designed by the famous architect and national design award, Oscar Tusquets.

• Friday 28 will host the concert of Joan Dausà and Els Catarres.
• Sunday 30, will be the turn of Amaia, one of the stars of the national pop scene.

Another cozy setting is the Vallformosa cellars, the Domènech family’s winemaking practice dates back to 1865,  and its facilities manage to conjugate tradition and modernity in a single space.

• Saturday morning will be held the first big concert for the little ones with the singer Dàmaris Gelabert and YouTube’s Golden Button, followed by Reggae Per Xics, one of the favorite bands of the little ones of the house. In the same place, at 21.30h, you can enjoy Iván Ferreiro one of the most powerful voices of the song in Castilian and the famous Catalan pop band Els Pets.
• Sunday at 22h, will close the weekend with the explosive concert of 31 Fam, who will soon announce a new album, and one of the most in-form bands, the Valencian La Fúmiga.

Also noteworthy is Vilarnau, a renovated and avant-garde artisanal cellar where the elements that integrate the landscape predominate: water, which borders the entire building, the glass of the windows and the oak wood of the exterior walls.

• Friday at 20.30h, will perform Ginestà.
• Sunday at 12.30h, Xiula will give a family concert.

Exquisite gastronomic proposals

One of the great attractions to visit the Alt Penedès is to enjoy the experiences in wineries and cellars related to the vineyard, wine and its culture and history and also its local gastronomy. This is why taking advantage of the weekend of concerts offered by the festival Ressons Penedès by Cruïlla, the wineries will open their doors with wine and gastronomic tourism proposals  for all tastes..

• Els Jardins de Codorníu by Cal Blay

The Gastro Wine Bar Els Jardins de Codorníu is the new proposal of Codorníu in the modernist residence designed by the famous architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. This Gastro Wine Bar offers a unique opportunity to enjoy a gastronomic experience in a century-old modernist house, is located in the heart of wine-growing nature, at the foot of the winery, declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument. In this privileged setting you can enjoy a glass of cava, tapas and more elaborate dishes, cooked with local products from Penedès.

On the occasion of the celebration of the Ressons festival, Codorníu will offer a special menu. This consists of starters to share: coca bread with tomato and arbequina olive oil, Iberian ham and Manchego cheese, meat croquettes with a crunchy breading, desalted cod nose salad, pickles and red pepper, meat cannelloni with mushroom cream and Parmesan and fried eggs with Prades potato, truffle and foie. For dessert, tangerine ice cream, catanias and carquinyolis.
*This menu includes bread, water, and 2 glasses of wine or cava for €35.

• Albet and Noya

Albet y Noya are pioneers in organic wines since 1978. A different way to enjoy their facilities during the festival is in an afternoon of vermouth in their  wine bar, enjoying delicious appetizers and their characteristic wines in a relaxed atmosphere and with the fantastic views of Can Vendrell de la Codina..

They offer all Albet y Noya wines by the glass and by the bottle and a complete menu of appetizers with local products and also some vegan options.  Among their appetizers are the pupurri muscler: thick potatoes, mussels, stuffed olives and chilli, the pupurri seitoner: thick potatoes, anchovies, stuffed olives and roasted peppers, also the pupurri formatger vegà: nachos, vegan Väcka cheese and jalapenos.

• MontRubí

MontRubí is a family winery founded in 1984, pioneer in the recovery of native varieties, where high altitude wines are produced from organic farming, located in an idyllic setting: a valley in the Alt Penedès. The Wine Bar is a space designed to taste the wines of MontRubí through tastings, pairings and dishes.

During the festival will offer as gastronomy: cod fritters with critical compote, tapas of Catalan cheeses and homemade croquettes strains, foie gras and truffle / ham, for wines will have organic wine by the glass both white, red and pink.

A billboard for the whole family

This festival will feature renowned artists such as Amaia Romero, one of the most important voices of the moment, winner of Operación Triunfo 2017 and author of songs like: Quiero que vengas and El relámpago. Iván Ferreiro, the renowned Galician singer will also be part of the event, this month he released Trinchera Pop, his first studio album in 7 years.

Els Pets a group with a great career and who have recently won a gold award by the magazine Enderrock, some have come to call them “The Catalan Beatles”, among their most outstanding songs is Blue Tack..

For the youngest of the house the children’s artist Dámaris Gelabert will perform, her videos on Youtube have more than 700 million views. An artist who seeks to combine pedagogy and music. The festival will also host singers like Joan Dausà who has hits like: Ara som gegants y Diría que eres tú.

Another performance that catches the attention of many, is that of the group Els Catarres, responsible for festive national pop music, their most recent album is Diamants (2022) which was awarded the Enderrock 2023 Award by popular vote for best album..
