Prada and Adidas have teamed up to create a joint limited edition collection exploring two of their great classics: the Adidas Superstar and the Prada Bowling tote. That’s why this collection is a return to the past in which both firms revisit their archives and reinvent them in two exclusive pieces.
The Adidas Superstar turns 50
The Superstar sneakers, first launched in 1969 as basketball sneakers, quickly transcended their purpose and became an icon of the German brand. Now, for their 50th anniversary, they are making the leap into the world of contemporary luxury with Prada.
The new version of the Adidas Superstar, unisex and in immaculate white, will be manufactured entirely in Italy by Prada. In addition, the 700 pairs of sneakers will be marked on the outside with a serial number and with the Prada logo on the tongue and side.
The Prada Bowling tote is reinvented in immaculate white.
Prada, for its part, has been linked to sports fashion over the years with its Prada Sport collections. Today, they are united in their own line known as Prada Linea Rossa. In it, they use nylon (so characteristic of the Italian house) in outerwear, skiwear and other technical accessories.
To the Prada x Adidas collection, the house brings a slightly enlarged reinterpretation of its Bowling tote, also in white leather. A perfect hybrid of the iconic Prada bag silhouette with the functionality of an Adidas sports bag.
Prada x Adidas is a tribute to timeless classics. It will be available from December 4 in selected Adidas and Prada stores and online. .
