The 126 floral projects will be distributed in 106 spaces among gardens, courtyards, small corners and buildings. They are committed to expanding the festival beyond the center, linking thirteen neighborhoods, and creating three itineraries to be explored.
Faced with the drought situation, they have created a manual survival irrigation to keep trees and plants in good condition, placing 12 water tanks in different points. This year, the poster selected for the presentation of the festival was that of the student Júlia Esparch, who portrayed the flowers in black and white while yellow highlighted prominence. His creativity and ingenuity allowed him to collaborate with houses such as Balmain, Patou, Fendi or Chanel, being part of the history of fashion.
The exhibition goes through chronologically his work, starting with his first functions as design assistant. Drawing was a central element when creating, the use of straight lines and serpentines, uniting modernist and classist tendencies at the same time. At the end of the tour, visitors can enjoy two very unique sections. On the one hand, the ironic embroideries of Lagerfeld’s wit, and on the other, sets of the artist himself reflecting his figure.

150 years since the Vienna World Exposition
In 1873 the first Universal Exhibition was held in Vienna, and after 150 years the Austrian capital has prepared different events to celebrate it. Different museums will be exhibiting on the occasion of the 150th anniversary, such as the Vienna Museum of Technology, the MAK, exhibiting the connection between Europe and Japan and Egypt. Two countries framed in the East, considering them culturally very distinct from the one in Europe. Similarly, the Museum of the World – Vienna, also deals with the subject.
The first exhibition to open is WomanatWork at the MAK. In 1873 the Vienna World’s Fair built the Women’s Pavilion, introducing women to the world of work outside the home, something revolutionary at the time. In this way, the exhibition examines the importance of those actions that began 150 years ago. Visitors will be able to observe objects, archival materials and photographs, in addition to being able to reflect on where women are at this point in time.

WOM Museum brings together the genius of the mind and illusions
illusion and science come together under the new WOM, World Of Mind, a 1500m2 space where the five senses are brought to the fore to challenge the brain. The science and fun meet to allow visitors to enter to perceive optical and sensory experiences that may not turn out to be what they were at first glance. Throughout the tour, visitors discover 120 visual, tactile, auditory and olfactory illusions, all of them related to brain connections. To learn about them while interacting, visitors learn the details left, through videos, by the neurologist Steven Laureys..
The experience alternates different rooms according to their theme. For example, visitors can enter an area where fog covers the vision, without it, the ears must be enhanced and tuned, as well as touch, if you want to recognize the area. In this way, through small tests and experiences the knowledge of one’s own body is enhanced, and how the brain works without us realizing it. The museum believes that young people are attracted to this type of exhibition, and therefore, throughout the tour have been leaving zones and instagrammable elements to leave it portrayed.

Identities through hair fashion
Finishing the 7 art highlights, when talking about fashion the first thing that comes to mind are garments and their evolution, but with them, hair has been evolving as well. The Museum of Decorative Arts presents the exhibition Des cheveux et des Poils, an exhibition that explores the evolution of hair from the fifteenth century to the present. The exhibition features more than 600 pieces reflecting the changes that appearances underwent over the years and territories. From the big wigs to represent superiority to the veils used by women, hiding their hair.
From the long tresses, from 1800 the first portraits of women with short hair began to appear. Along the tour you can see paintings by artists such as Michiel Jansz Van Mierevelt or Eugéne Pascau. From the latter you can see how men were proud of body hair at the beginning of the 20th century, something that began to disappear as we entered the next century. Hair and hairstyles may not have been given more importance in the beginning, but it is one of the elements that characterizes people since ever.
