Nightbloom is the lighting collection inspired by nature, the result of a collaboration between Lladró and Marcel Wanders.

Latest Marcel Wanders releases

The iconic Spanish firm, dedicated to functional and decorative porcelain, has teamed up with the renowned Dutch design studio to create this collection, which has been presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2019. Likewise, at this same event, Marcel Wanders presented many other proposals, such as the collection “The Illusion of Time”, in collaboration with Starbucks Reserve. A series of pieces that reflect the tradition and ritual surrounding coffee. .

What’s more, on the occasion of the homage celebrated for the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, the studio recreated Leonard’s iconic horse. It transformed him into a huge animal ridden by a 3D figure of Marcel Wanders wearing a magician’s hat and a rabbit. A reflection of the designer’s admiration for the genius.

Another collaboration, this time with the Italian furniture firm Natuzzi, for which the Dutch studio has created a series of pieces: chairs, armchairs, sofas… with soft lines and blue and earth tones.

The studio has also recently presented a new edition of Pebbles, a collaboration with Bisazza that is now in its 20th year. Coffee tables adorned by colorful and original mosaics that brighten up any space and to which, this year, four new finishes have been added.

Marcel Wanders: 30 years of history

An endless number of collaborations that only reflect the success of the studio. These are by no means the first brands to partner with Marcel Wanders. Alessi, Baccarat, Christofle, Kosé Corporation/Decorté, Flos, KLM, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, LH&E Group, Louis Vuitton, Miramar Group, Morgans Hotel Group and Puma are just some of the brands they have worked with.

Almost 2,000 pieces, ranging from furniture, tableware, decorative objects of all kinds to cosmetics packaging, have been created by Marcel Wanders. Whose main concern is to return the human touch to design, guiding the beginning of what he calls the “new era” of design, in which the designer, the craftsman and the user meet. A philosophy that fits perfectly within the craftsmanship of Lladró. Marcel Wanders states that:  Marcel Wanders states that:

Working with Lladró we have combined their unique artisanal processes with our goal of bringing the past into the contemporary moment to create something exquisite and beautiful for the home.

Lighting inspired by nature

The collaboration between Lladró and Marcel Wanders has resulted in a collection of lamps inspired by nature. They combine the ethereal quality of matt porcelain with the distinctive beauty of petals. In total, four pieces: a pendant ceiling lamp, a floor lamp, a desk lamp and a wall lamp. What’s more, all of them made of white porcelain inspired by the way the petals of a flower gently sway in the breeze. This is how Gabriele Chiave, creative director of Marcel Wanders describes them: .

The true beauty of these pieces comes from the light. It makes its way through the three-dimensional relief of the petals creating a gradient of color from the inside out.
