From the iconic creatives SIMORRA or Guillermina Baeza, to the newcomers Bielo_OscarLeon, Carlota Barrera or AMLUL by Gala González, they have opted for the utility of their garments, with the aim that the user can extend the useful life of the fabrics.

The 32nd edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion catwalk presented the second edition of 080 Reborn. An upcycling initiative of pieces made from denim remnants. Recovered from second-hand shops and waste sorting plants, to give them a new use and bring them to the public.

The brand’s proposals, in addition to being sophisticated and elegant, stand out for their commitment to sustainability. An approach that has become central in today’s fashion industry.

An important part of the collection is made from recycled polyamide, recycled polyester and lycra, with recycled yarns. We also print a waterless part in order to be more sustainable and manufacture KM0 garments. As well as the durability of the garments and the ethics of the processes”, adds Belén Larruy Baeza, designer of Guillermina Baeza.

Guillermina Baeza advocates an inclusive design where comfort and elegance are for all women.

We don’t make fashion for a specific type of woman, but we have always thought about all types of profiles. Guillermina’s best-selling sizes are M, L, XL, XXL. Our experience after so many years of pattern making has taught us that it is necessary to make a series of patterns to adapt them to all sizes. It is essential for women to feel beautiful, with design and innovation, but comfortable”, adds Belén Larruy.

These statements reinforce the importance of sustainable fashion and the need to continue promoting environmentally friendly practices. In this way, 080 makes Barcelona the capital of cutting-edge, eco-responsible fashion.

Her unwavering commitment is reflected in the reuse of fabrics, the use of recycled fibres and 100% organic materials. Her new collection , “May”, takes as its starting point a love story. As with all beginnings, the collection captures the essence of the first moments, with their characteristic nerves and vertigo. As a whole, the collection embodies the spirit and emotions of a romance in its early stages. It reflects the uncertainty of the unknown. Manifested through depictions of broken hearts and designs that emulate the sensation of peering into an infinite facade.

In this proposal, the brand combines classic silhouettes with new additions, dyed in a colour palette that Gala describes as “very British”. An essential element of this collection is its commitment to sustainability, as all the pieces are made in Spain through an environmentally friendly process and emphasises quality over quantity, making the collection a slow fashion model.

As if that wasn’t enough, the show includes a stunning wedding dress and adds patterns that are uniquely suited to various body types, in line with Gala’s vision of meeting women’s real needs. For this 32nd edition, AMLUL is also collaborating with vegan trainer brand Vectus and GIGI Studios on a micro capsule of sunglasses featuring two unique styles inspired by streetwear and ethical production.

Carefully selected materials, conscious production techniques and a philosophy of recycling combine to create fashion that not only dazzles on the catwalk, but also respects our natural environment. This commitment is evident in every detail, from the palette of forest colours such as orange, terracotta, green and browns, to raw neutrals and whites, to textures such as pleats that mimic the ephemeral shapes and movements of the earth.

The realinnovation lies in the choice of sustainable materials and production techniques. Garments include knitted jumpers and dresses with embossed details reminiscent of clouds, pleats that mimic the ripples on the se ashore, and sporty outerwear with a play of transparency that reveals the softness of the feathers inside.

In addition, silver bags and accessories add a touch of elegance and luminosity to every look. With “Echoes of Nature”, SIMORRA demonstrates that fashion and sustainability can coexist harmoniously, creating an exceptional collection that reflects not only the beauty of nature, but also respect for it.

Sustainable fashion is not only a trend, but a necessity in a world where there is an urgent need to address climate change. At the 32nd edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion, these brands have shown that beauty and environmental responsibility can coexist harmoniously. Fashion should not only be an expression of creativity, but also a means to create a more sustainable future. Creativity and environmental responsibility have converged. The result is a fashion statement that seeks not only to inspire, but also to make a positive impact on the world.
