After going around the world, from April 1st to August 3rd of this year the Grand Palais in Paris will host the 40 years of the French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier in the fashion industry with the exhibition of its 175 flagship costumes. An amazing exhibition that will feature photographs, documents, drawings and material that has been part of the designer.
Gaultier began working as Pierre Cardin’s assistant in 1970 and since then he has continued to advance. He presentes his first prêt-à-porter collection in 1977, but was Madonna who pushed him to fame with the cone bustier in the breaste. Describing himself as “enfant terrible de la mode” for his first shows in the late 1970s, Jean-Paul Gaultier is one of the most wanted and medica artists.
A spontaneous and fun exhibition that traces the designs of a designer which addesses trends able to play with humor and inspired by the street and in a society that moves away from the traditional established codes.
