We remember one of the most famous sagas through one of its most iconic objects: James Bond watches.

Can we imagine James Bond without an Omega, or without his latest generation car? These objects, like so many others, have stood as identifiers of the character over the years. Sponsorship in cinema allows brands to become part of the content, they are integrated into the film in a natural way and do so in an emotionally intense context. Advertising well done allows to build a link between character and brand, so that we can’t imagine one without the other.

That is why the Omega watches are an iconic symbol of the spy James Bond. They have acquired value and even notoriety. For each film, the most appropriate model is meticulously chosen. In the same way, limited editions appear that are of great interest to lovers of the saga, watches and collectors.

The James Bond saga through his watches

Golden Eye (1995)

Since 1995, Bond has worn Omega Seamaster watches. Lindy Hemming, the wardrobe manager of the Golden Eye film, opted for this model of blue tones taking into account the past of 007 as a marine.

In Golden Eye, Bond was played by Pierce Brosnan and wore an Omega Seamaster 300M Quartz. Brosnan has also worn in all his films as James Bond the Omega Seamaster 300M Chronometer, also in blue.

Casino Royale (2006)

In the movie Casino Royale, we see Daniel Craig in the role of the British spy for the first time. To celebrate this new stage, four different watches were presented.

First, we see Bond wearing a Omega Seamaster 300M Professional Diver in blue and with steel strap. The brand produced a limited edition, the Omega Seamaster 300M Chronometer 2226.80 James Bond Limited Series, with the 007 logo and the silhouette of his gun on the seconds hand.

In the film, the spy also sports in his outdoor scenes a Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean in black and silver with a black rubber strap. They brought out a limited version, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Casino Royale Limited Edition, which is reminiscent of the first elaborate Seamaster and has classic features of a watch for professional divers, such as the helium escape valve at the 10 o’clock mark.

The watch, very similar to the Planet Ocean from Casino Royale, is more formal as it features a black dial and steel strap. Omega released a limited version of the Planet Ocean in motif of the film, with the James Bond logo engraved on the strap and textured black dial surface.

In Skyfall, Bond wears a Seamaster Planet Ocean with a steel strap and a black dial with the word seamaster engraved in orange. The tip of the seconds hand is also in this color. There was a special edition of this Planet Ocean very particular: the back is made of transparent sapphire crystal, so it allows to see the watch movement.
