H&M Conscious Exclusive Autumn-Winter 2020 collection has been presented under the slogan “Let’s Wear The Waste.” Garments for women and men are made from sustainable materials sourced from waste.

It was unveiled on December 2 in the format of a 3-part documentary miniseries. All thanks to the participation of sustainability experts such as Blanca Gómara, Strategic Sustainability Consultant for Fashion, Paloma García, Director of The Circular Project – SFW Madrid, and emerging talents like Ane Castro and Núria Costa, winners in the Early Bird category of H&M Foundation’s Global Change Award.

H&M presents 3 new sustainable materials

H&M takes another step towards sustainability with its new collection under the slogan “Let’s Wear The Waste”. The Swedish brand has been committed to creating more sustainable pieces for years, and this new collection, inspired by avant-garde and full of color, is another step in the right direction.

In the words of Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s creative advisor:

“For Conscious Exclusive A/W20, we wanted to be pioneers – pushing the boundaries of creativity and sustainable fashion – focusing on waste. As a result, the pieces in this collection are made from truly surprising materials produced from waste. By working with this type of transformation and being able to speak to our customers through beauty, we hope that waste can be part of the future of sustainable fashion”.

The prints throughout the collection are inspired by vintage floral wallpaper. In addition to recycled polyester, the garments have also been created from 3 revolutionary sustainable materials: Agraloop™ Hemp Biofibre™, a natural fiber derived from hemp crop residue; Eastman Naia™ Renew, a cellulose yarn composed of wood fibers and recycled plastic waste; and Made of Air®, a carbon-negative plastic. Plus, the innovative dyeing process that uses less water and energy, We aRe SpinDye®.
