As strange as it may sound, there is a World Bee Day, celebrated every 20th of May since 2017. These insects, environmental sentinels, are in danger of disappearing. Additionally, since 1853, the bee has been the symbol of the French brand Guerlain, which is highly involved in the preservation and protection of the species.

Bee pollination is essential to ensure the balance of nature and the reproduction of flowers and plants. The bee has become a guiding principle for Guerlain’s commitment to sustainability.

Guerlain has been involved in supporting bees for years, and once again, renews its commitment to protecting them with the Guerlain for Bees Conservation program: nine associations dedicated to ensuring the survival of this precious pollinator.

Guerlain For Bees, UNESCO teamed up with OFA (Organising for Action) to create the Women for Bees programme to train new women beekeepers in UNESCO biosphere reserves. in UNESCO biosphere reserves.en las reservas de biosfera de la UNESCO.

To celebrate World Bee Day 2022, Guerlain joins forces with UNESCO and Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie. They create the second cohort of the Women For Bees Program. This program takes place in Cambodia with 11 female beekeepers with the support of the UNESCO Office in Phnom Penh and the cooperation of the Maddox-Jolie-Pitt Foundation. The beekeepers lived in villages in Siem Reap, in the Tonle Sap Biosphere Reserve, and in the Samlot district.

As part of Guerlain For Bees commitment, this ambitious initiative aims to provide economic independence to women worldwide. Additionally, it provides new habitats for endangered bee populations, inspired by the good poultry practices of the FAO.

Between May 20, World Bee Day, and May 22, International Day for Biological Diversity, Guerlain will donate 20% of its global sales and €20 for every repost of its image on Instagram.
