The bistro cocktail bar, Galileo, is reopening its doors in Barcelona’s Eixample district. The iconic venue joins forces with Campari, and returns with four new experiences.
Italian gastronomy, talks with actors and actresses, live music and cinema nights come together to offer unrepeatable experiences. Just as this summer Campari joined Cibeles de Cine, this time it links up with the coctelería Galileo returning totally renewed along with the best cocktail mixes.
Four essential new products
For this September, Galileo starts with four novelties in its premises. One of the new initiatives highlighted in the cocktail bar is the Meet&Spritz, a monthly event in which the critic Carlos del Amor will interview actors and actresses, as well as experts related to the world of cinema.
The designer Maria Escoté will be there on 26 October and Greta Fernandez on 23 November, in both cases from 8pm to 10pm. All this while enjoying a refreshing Campari cocktail. Meanwhile, the Red Tickets experience has been added, where every Wednesday they offer cocktail mixes to enjoy the best films at Aribau Cinemas. With this, Galileo invites you to enjoy a Pizza&Spritz, a pack that includes a delicious slice of pizza accompanied by the iconic Campari Spritz. In this way, the experience becomes the perfect way to combine a night at the cinema with a unique culinary experience.
Another novelty is the prominence that Negroni will have at the venue. Each month, a guest bartender will create his or her version of the Negroni de Cine, inspired by the most iconic films. Campari, known for inspiring the creativity of the best bartenders internationally, challenges the experts to create new interpretations of the classic cocktail. The opening day featured bartenders Filippo Faedda of Salmon Guru and Andrea Civettini of Galileo. Two talented mixologists who have created exclusive cocktails that will only be available for a month, including Revolution, created with whisky, vermouth, Campari and different aromas.
To end the evenings in a special way, music joins Galileo through Campari Pianobar. The musicians set the scene by singing the most iconic songs from the films. And while you enjoy the cinema through the sounds, the Spanish tapas merge with the flavours of Italian signature cuisine. The menu features plates such as Coppa Ibérica with focaccia, gorgonzola cream and tomato confit or grilled octopus with pumpkin and chipotle. They also have a tasting menu with food and wine pairing and brunch.
The stars of the cinema at Galileo
Madrid-born actor Iván Sánchez played a prominent role in the inauguration as an insider bartender, a one-off action he performed for the event. When Iván was asked about his taste for Campari he couldn’t decide which cocktail was best, but he did recommend that the best time to enjoy them is mid-afternoon. Currently, the actor is immersed in the filming of two movies, both part of the Culpa Mía trilogy, based on the works of the Argentinean writer, Mercedes Ron. In addition, the film Nueva Tierra, in which Iván Sánchez not only acts, but also plays an important role as producer, will soon be released.
The reopening of Galileo generates very high expectations, backed by a high-calibre team, including Giacomo Giannotti, owner of Paradiso, the first bar on The World’s 50 Best Bar list, along with Gabriele Milani, Giovanni Pepe and Andrea Civettini. In addition, Galileo is renewed with unique experiences that merge cocktails and cinema, captivating its lovers.
