The desire of the millennials (born between 1980 and 2000) and not so millennials like the generation X (born between 1961 and 1980) to return to the retro style of the decades from the 70’s to the 90’s with personalized products and especially the denim, which has been storming the catwalks for several seasons and is at its peak, setting trends both in urban style looks and during the weekend.

Celebrate denim;

The denim is back in fashion and we can see it in jeans and jackets. If there is a flagship brand in denim is Levi’s. How can it be that a model of pants created in 1873 is as current as the famous 501? With a simple and timeless pattern, the same as the Trucker Type III jacket, which this year is also celebrating.

50 years have passed since Levi’s introduced the most recognizable denim jacket design and to celebrate it has invited several emerging European artists to customize it. Their  creations could be seen in the temporary exhibition in Berlin last October.

The group of artists representing Spain was formed by film director Inés de León, photographer Pablo Alzaga, illustrator Javier Navarro and sculptor Jennifer Bucovineanu. Their inspiration? The Madrid neighborhood of Malasaña, underground cultural epicenter of new trends.

Whether you opt for these classic models or more avant-garde ones, denim is a safe bet for this season. Dolce & Gabbana, who usually go for a more casual style, have filled their autumn-winter fashion show with unique denim garments adorned with all kinds of drawings, patches, appliqués that add color to the subdued blue of the fabric.

Another type of more sport brands also add trends to their collections. The denim, as the fabric par excellence for a casual style, is part of the garments of these brands season after season, both in shirts and in jackets and jeans, as well as in a multitude of garments and accessories of all kinds. This year, denim is seen more, if possible, in the collections of Quicksilver, Billabong or the queen of denim: Levi’s and frequently combined with sheepskin that adapts this type of garment to the winter cold.

The sheepskin or its combination sheepskin+denim are the key to an urban look in trend and according to the cold of this time of year. They give a vintage and boyish touch to the garments, but well combined can be very attractive. The most common will be seen in jackets of all kinds, but can also be found in shirts or hats.

The check shirts or better known as lumberjack shirts have especially filled this year’s collections of urban fashion brands. Dickies, Levi’s or Vans are just an example. But the plaid print has also been very present on the catwalk, both in shirts and in the most varied outerwear.

The use of flannel and sheepskin in combination with this trend accentuate even more the retro air that characterizes this type of garment. The print, with large and marked squares and saturated colors such as black, red or blue.

This trend is included in the catwalks with a casual and casual style. You can even see how Givenchy combines this type of printed shirt with a sweatshirt and sneakers. That same style is proposed by the following brands. Quicksilver, Volcom, Levi’s, Rusty, Billabong or Vans are brands that identify with this way of dressing in which you can be fashionable, you can apply the trends and at the same time bet on a more sport air.

As far as urban style is concerned, retro is the trend that encompasses them all. Denim, plaid, sheepskin… In general the shapes and fabrics are reminiscent of the 60s. That coupled with the great upturn that is suffering the fact of   “dress brand” after the madness of  low-cost makes more and more firms with a casual style as those that can be found in  Planet Sports the online store Planet Sports are very interesting.
