Prints, colors, shapes, fabrics … What will be the fall-winter 2018 trends in terms of fashion? We summarize the most important ones in 5 key points.

Prints: checks and animal print

Prince of Wales, Tartan, Vichy, Scots… In any of its multiple versions, larger or smaller and in many colors. Checks stand as one of the main stars of the next season. Fendi has based almost all of its collection on them.

On this occasion, checks share protagonism with the animal print. Zebra, tiger, snake or crocodile join the classic leopard. Both checks and animal prints are far from discretion. This autumn-winter the most important thing is to combine them to shine, either with statement garments such as coats or jackets or with more than one piece in the same look.

The colors: orange and purple

In the next 2018 autumn-winter season, colors take control of our closet. The cold months usually give rise to collections with little color, dark and muted tones, blacks, browns and grays and matt textures. This year, however, it is full of vibrant colors. A good example of this is Jeremy Scott‘s fashion show, a whole explosion of color. Green, blue, pink… but, above all, orange and violet in its more fluorine versions that stand out among all of them.

The materials: leather, tweed, velvet, knit … and silk

The fall-winter fashion shows are filled with the usual fabrics: knit, wool, velvet, leather or tweed. These fabrics remind us that the cold has reached our closets.

The news? This season the warmest and roughest materials mix with light and soft textures. A chunky knit sweater and a skirt: this has been the most used combination by designers. This reinvents a material typically associated with the winter season, resulting into casual looks for the day and elegant outfits for the night.

A style: the vintage

The 60’s, 70’s and 80’s have influenced the collections of many of the designers for the upcoming fall-winter season. We can see that in the forms, ruffles, puff sleeves, prints… From the hippy touches to a lady like style, the designs look to the past.

Two garments: raincoats and midi trousers and skirts

Raincoats are the star garment of the change of seasons and this year even more. Timeless and easily combinable, from the most classic to the most original, they are always a good option for diary looks.

Pants and skirts are cut to half leg. An option that is not usually seen in winter clothes but that adapts perfectly combining them with high socks or boots.
