What to do in Sitges?
Sitges has endless possibilities to enjoy all kinds of activities. From gastronomic offers, cultural visits, endless beaches, places to disconnect and parties that last all night.

The Terramar Gardens, located between the sea and the golf courses, is a unique and very diverse space. The typical gastronomy of the town stands out the sitgetana rice, a recipe of the nineteenth century that fishermen prepared in the high seas. Another autochthonous dish is the xató (winter dish) which is made with endive, shredded cod, tuna, anchovies and arbequins. But the most special touch is its sauce: it is made with toasted almonds and hazelnuts, garlic, chorizo peppers, fried bread, oil, vinegar and salt. It is a real delicacy that is also made in Vilanova i la Geltrú, El Vendrell, Calafell and Vilafranca del Penedés, giving rise to the famous Ruta del Xató..
Also typical are the tapas made at the time, rice dishes in the wide range of restaurants and beach bars in front of the sea, accompanied by the wine La Malvasía a sweet golden wine that accompanies lunches and dinners in local restaurants.
Another of the most famous dishes is a typical dish of one of the most important festivities in Sitges: Carnival. It is traditionally eaten on “Dijous gras”, accompanied by omelettes of butifarra d’ou, artichoke and “Seques” (white beans).
