For yet another year, brands have produced garments of all kinds using this fabric, creating a trend that has been gaining popularity for months.

We find the return of crochet in different accessories for this autumn-winter. As in the multicolored Missoni fisherman’s hat, knitted with raffia or the original cap with beige visor by Chloe. Without any doubt, the most surprising garment that has been adapted to crochet are sneakers. Italian clothing brand LC23 has partnered with the StockX platform, a distributor of all kinds of branded goods, to release a collection of crochet slippers that celebrate Italian tradition and craftsmanship.

Limited to just five pairs per model, the collaboration releases the Nike Air Force One Low, the Nike Dunk Low and the Air Jordan 1. The sneakers are customized with handmade crochet made in Puglia and the elaboration takes a total of two weeks.

Valentino Garavani has also created crochet sneakers in braided fabric with rubber soles made in Italy. They are for both men and women and are available in yellow, red, gray, black and pink. They stand out for their great craftsmanship to achieve all the knots that, braided, form the fabric of the sneaker.

Although it may not seem like it, crochet is a very versatile fabric that can be easily adapted to all kinds of garments. Several brands have opted to give this fabric a twist and use it for bottoms, such as pants or skirts.
