H&M has been advocating for organic cotton in its Conscious line for years, but with its Conscious Exclusive party capsule collection, it has taken it a step further. Garments, footwear, and accessories perfect for summer parties and celebrations, all made from recycled and sustainable materials.
Inspired by the wonders of nature, the Conscious Exclusive collection is full of vitality, prints, colors, and textures. In addition to organic cotton and recycled polyester, they have used three new and innovative plant-based materials: piñatex, orange fiber, and Bloom foam.
Sustainable innovation: three new plant-based materials
Piñatex is a natural alternative to leather made from pineapple leaf fibers. With it, they have crafted some of the most special pieces of the collection. For example, a jacket that combines different prints and colors with silver and shiny flames or printed cowboy boots, suitable only for the bold.
Orange fiber is a sustainable silk-like fabric obtained from citrus peel. With it, they have created the star top of the collection. Along with other materials. Specifically, the blouse is made with Tencel, orange fiber, and metallic fiber, resulting in a perfect jacquard fabric. The puff sleeves, sweetheart neckline, and golden embroidery give it a princely touch.
Bloom foam is a flexible vegetable foam made from algae biomass, whose manufacturing process helps clean and restore the marine environment. This material has been used to make the soles of sandals with animal print and a large bow.
The collection has been available since April 11th, and although many of the items have flown off the shelves, others are still available.
