Fashion week and the Pantone Institute, the world authority on color, propose the key brushstrokes with which we will vibrate this season. With its palette of “atypical colors“, we are seduced by an artistic collection of unusual combinations to what we are used to in autumn.
The appropriate mix of these colors can convey a variety of emotions and sensations, reflecting imagination and ingenuity; an artistic combination typical of today’s society.
Which begs the question, why do colors play such a key role in setting the season’s trends?
Today’s expressions are pushing the boundaries and animating the market with spontaneous and fun optics. The most daring contrasts are now the preferred ones, being the mix a key element to generate surprise.
As Leatrice Eiseman explains, “There is a mysterious air that is reflected through the color palettes, which is inspired by the growing need of people around the world to create an individual impression.”
The reason behind this change could be the fact that fashion and design lovers in general are looking for their style to be perceived more as a work of art, a true expression of their mood and a way of looking at life, than as a simple wardrobe.
As creativity and expression grow when it comes to reproducing a trend, color also represents our mood and the way we show ourselves to the world. That is why we look for vivid shades that bring us joy and comfort or cooler tones that bring us purity and sophistication.
The harmony that inspires the 2014 color palette, makes us surrender to the temptation of being motivated by the confidence, joy and originality of its shades. It is mainly made up of pastel tones that contrast and are complemented by more daring tones. This palette offers endless possibilities to have fun, experiment and enjoy the result when choosing our wardrobe.
