Spring is here and with it comes back one of the biggest festivals in the world: Coachella. We tell you the best hairstyles for the festival inspired by our favorite celebrities and influencers;
After two years without Coachella, the world’s biggest music festival returns this spring 2022. During the weekend of April 15-17 and April 22-24, Coachella hosted more than 90 artists such as Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Kanye West or Doja Cat, at its now traditional venue: the Empire Polo Club in the desert of Indio, California.
Coachella is not only known for its music and artists; the style and aesthetics of the celebration are already part of the main essence of the festival. Every year influencers, celebrities and celebrities surprise us with their festival outifts, full of glitter, colors and textures. And to complement their looks, you can’t miss a good hairstyle. As our summers are also full of plans, festivals and unique moments where you can wear them, we show you how to recreate the best Coachella hairstyles. Take note because you’re going to succeed.
Double high ponytail
It’s no secret that the Y2K aesthetic of the 2000s, is back to stay. We’ve seen it on sweepy catwalks and Coachella was no exception. Triumphs at any festival with the double high ponytail.
To achieve this hairstyle, with the help of a natural bristle brush, make two ponytails above your ears and secure them with rubber bands. To give it a different touch you can also take out two front strands and let them fall over the forehead. This hairstyle works great for round faces and will keep you cool for the desert heat of L.A..
If you want to give another style to this hairstyle, instead of leaving the two pigtails you can make two braids, as the super model Kendall Jenner did.
High bows
This hairstyle is much more casual and messy. While high ponytails show a more polished aesthetic, the two high buns complement a more undone look, ideal for elongated oval faces.
To recreate this look, it is best to carry out the buns with your fingers, to give it a more natural effect. Two high ponytails are made, behind the ears and once done, you twist them on themselves creating the bun. Then fix them with invisible hairpins and our hairstyle is ready.
Boxer braids
Braids are the most popular and traditional hairstyle for festivals. But every braid can be customized to achieve a unique style. In this case, boxer braids are a challenge if you do them yourself, but not impossible.
How to make them? Well, although traditional boxer braids are inverted, in this case they are simpler and are made with three strands and fed on top. That is, we start a normal root braid with the parting to the side and the hair divided in two. It is recommended to finish the braids with a transparent rubber band, to achieve a look totally neat.
Mini braids
If you prefer to leave your hair loose instead of doing an updo, you can add some mini braids to make it more festival style. We’ve seen this hairstyle on many celebrities and influencers during Coachella and we loved it.
This hairstyle is one of the easiest to recreate: simply take a couple of thin strands in the front of your hair and make mini braids by knotting them with a small rubber band or some colored clips.
Half braids with ribbon
One of the most creative hairstyles are the half braids with a bow. It is an adaptation of the boxer braids with a sporty style but more original. This hairstyle is perfect for round oval faces.
To do this, start by dividing the hair in two sections in half, and with the help of a fixing gel, make the three strands braid inverted, that is to say, from back to front. Once you reach the nape of the neck, secure them with an elastic band and line them with a lock and a bobby pin. Once you have the base, it’s time for the laborious part of weaving the loop into the braid. You can use a bow of the same color or if you want a more daring look you can combine colors.
Go for any of these styles to be a hit at any event this summer After all, if they’re at Coachella, they’re on-trend.
