Castañer and Missoni have joined forces to create a special collection.  The iconic wedges and espadrilles of the Spanish brand are dressed in a new unmistakable design: bright colors, geometric prints and bold contrasts.

This is not Castañer’s first collaboration with a luxury brand. Last year, the Spanish brand teamed up with none other than Manolo Blahnik. The result? A perfect blend between the elegance and refinement of “Manolos” and the comfort and timelessness of Castañer espadrilles.

Rafael Castañer and Angela Missoni

This year, Angela Missoni has been in charge of creating this special collection. Fifteen models of footwear for women and four for men in which the designer has opted for personality and contemporaneity in her mission to update and elevate a shoe as traditional, fresh and casual as the alpargata. The color palette is really wide. From the bright and vivid colors that characterize the Italian fashion brand to the earthy and raw tones and the black and white dichotomy.

Castañer and Missoni, two symbols of handmade goods

Hundreds of kilometers separate these two iconic brands but their paths are almost parallel. Both Castañer and Missoni have a long tradition, numerous iconic creations behind them and handcrafted production as their flagship.

Their continuous renovation of the classics has led these two firms to remain at the top of the fashion industry after decades of history. Today, they join forces to create a footwear collection that pays homage to the quality and care of handmade. Like the rest of Castañer’s espadrilles, the designs signed by Angela Missoni are produced in a completely handmade way in the company’s workshops.

Castañer’s production process is entirely handmade.

As part of the spring summer 2019 pre-collection, the Missoni x Castañer creations have been on sale since last December.
