Beyond Luxury Awards unveils the best luxury hotels of the year in Spain and Portugal. Finca Cortesín won Best Luxury Hotel of the Year in Spain and The One Palácio da Anunciada in Portugal.
Beyond Luxury Awards are the first awards that recognise the luxury hotel industry in the Iberian Peninsula. The event took place on 12 November at the Hotel Finca Cortesín in Marbella, which was awarded Best Hotel of the Year and repeated as Best Luxury Hotel of the Year in Spain 2022. This hotel, located between Marbella and Sotogrande, has a splendid golf course and spa as well as a spectacular swimming pool also distinguished as Best Swimming Pool. Furthermore, this edition included Portuguese hotels for the first time, where The One Palácio da Anunciada was proclaimed Best Luxury Hotel of the Year in Portugal 2022..

In addition, Friedrich Von Schönburg, general manager of the Rosewood Villa Magna, formerly of El Palace Barcelona, received the organisation’s Honourable Mention for Excellence for his impeccable work at the helm of El Palace.

The awards recognise the luxury tourism sector.
Luxury tourism in Spain, with a value of up to 25,000 million euros, now has awards in keeping with its category. These aim to accompany, encourage and recognise the excellence of one of the Iberian Peninsula’s main economic engines. Bárbara Barrera, founder of Beyond Luxury Awards together with Liliana Sebastián, points out: “while the first edition was a real incentive for an industry that needed all the impetus and recognition, the 2022 edition wanted to reward both the effort and the excellence achieved at an extremely complicated time for the sector.
In 2023 the awards, which will continue to value the Luxury hospitality industry in Spain and Portugal, will be held at The St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort, a luxury resort of reference on the island. Beyond Luxury Awards are pioneering awards for the solvency and independence of their organisation, as well as for their jury made up of experts of recognised experience in the fields of hospitality, tourism, gastronomy, design, luxury and the media.
