After several months of rumors about the possible signing of Bertrand Guyon as creative director of the maison Schiaparelli, the brand has finally confirmed this new incorporation. Guyon, who to date had worked for the team of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli at the Valentino maison, and had been through Givenchy and Christian Lacroix, will be responsible for all collections of Haute Couture and Prêt-à-Porter of the Schiaparelli team, consisting of the design studio and atelier located at number 21 Place Vendôme in Paris.
The new creative director will debut in July during the Haute Couture Week in Paris. His predecessor, Marco Zanini, who has been Lawrence Steele and Domenico Dolce assistant and also as creative director at Rochas, said goodbye to Schiaparelli last November. The firm had to rely a specially selected team to its latest Spring-Summer 2015 collection that was presented in January.
Guyon expressed his fascination for Elsa Schiaparelli, which considers creative, extravagant and very chic. He will continue her legacy faithful to the tradition of the brand, but providing a contemporary and modern vision.
