There are those who have not yet discovered the great tool that is breathing, an element that goes unnoticed and that in reality is the door to the control of our mind and our emotions … ultimately the drivers of our decisions.
In this post I want to make a brief introduction to what is breathing and leave you a simple technique for you to put into practice the power of breathing.
Breathing is the activity that we carry out most throughout our lives, it is the nourishment of our organism, something without which we can barely last 4 minutes on average.
Imagine the impact of herratic breathing on your body. Heratic refers to low lung capacity, shallow, rapid, tense breathing that leads to stress, susceptibility, nervousness.
Through breathing we recover the flexibility of the body, the lungs, the rib cage, sternum… from inside to outside… flexibility of thoughts and emotions… if the outside is a reflection of the inside, by working inside we CAN change our external projection.
Breathing well brings health, vitality, mental and emotional control.
How do we breathe well? Inhaling and filling the stomach and lungs with air, noticing how the cavities are filled and exhaling deflating the stomach and the pectoral area.
Today I want to introduce you to the qualities of the left nostril:
the lunar or feminine side related to the right hemisphere of the brain in charge of emotions, the creative, the unconscious… qualities such as synthesis, receptivity, empathy, sensitivity, calm, purifying and refreshing.
If you need to sleep better or focus for a meeting, or to calm your nerves, breathe through the left nostril.
Sit in a comfortable posture with your spine straight and plug your right nostril with your right thumb. Breathe deeply, inhaling to fill the lungs and exhaling to empty for 11 minutes. In case you want to intensify the relaxing action, stay without oxygen in the lungs as you exhale with each breath.
ex: inhale deep, exhale deep, hold, inhale, exhale, hold…
