Archist

The leitmotiv of many of his illustrations is to find the hidden places of architecture, discover a world of invisible constructions. This time, Babina makes it through the art of 27 different artists.

Derived from the “symbolic relationship and the implicit association” between art and architecture. Archist reinterprets in expressive and aesthetic language of such prominent artists as the built form.

The Malévich house shows the establishment of supremacism. Movement focused on fundamental geometric shapes, in particular square and circle, and abstract art as it can be seen in the building.

Images of the popular Marilyn Monroe by Warhol are distributed across several colorful rooms. While on top of the building there are two recognized cans of tomato soup by Campbell.

The skyscraper of Frank Stella focuses on minimalism through the black painting. This building reminds his work The Marriage of Reason and Squalor. It contains twelve U-form stripes inverted in black paint that seem to radiate from the vertical line, without only painting in its center.

The building of Mondrian brings us closer to neo-plasticism. His works are composed of abstract forms which are reduced to horizontal and vertical straight lines, with black, white, gray colors and the three primaries.

The building of Joan Miró is similar to his surrealism. Its two windows, one round and the other square, are part of his works. On the top, we find what for Miró was a bird and at the bottom next to the door is its unique signature.

Among the different blocks that make up the building of Roy Lichtenstein we can appreciate the unique print, color and the comic style so particular of the artist.

The building of Damien Hirst could be considered an aquarium. It is made through his collection Wrath or God  in 2005. The facade with its colorful series of Pyronin points and its interior that offers a set of windows that forms a shark in formaldehyde.

An eclectic disposition of shapes and almost random that forms the building of Picasso. In addition to denote his dalliances with Cubism.

On the other hand, the building of Marcel Duchamp is based on the collection ready made (found objects). On the facade, we can see The fountain and The bicycle wheel, both connected by a pulley system.

If we talk about a surreal house this obviously will be the one of Salvador Dalí. Dalí’s house is built by strange forms that are buttressed by wooden piles. Its windows resemble an eye and a nostril that can remind to Vestiges ataviques après la pluie.
