Although we are very familiar with some of them, such as mushrooms or portobello mushrooms, adaptogenic mushrooms offer a wide range of foods that help to take care of our health.

Adaptogenic mushrooms support the body’s health thanks to their multiple benefits. In general, they balance the metabolism and facilitate adaptation to environmental changes. There are several types that are edible: from the usually well-known mushrooms, portobello and maitake to the somewhat less popular reishi, shiitake and lion’s mane. From neuro-regenerating properties to immune-boosting ones, these mushrooms have been booming in recent years and the food industry continues to do research to create products from them. One of the most prominent is Cokare, which offers food supplements made from adaptogenic mushrooms and plant extracts.

Cokare has evolved traditional Chinese medicine by incorporating its benefits into our daily lives

Cokare’s products are entirely plant-based, with ingredients from organic and sustainable agriculture. They are the result of blends developed in collaboration with Chinese doctors, nutritionists and herbalists.

Cokare offers a wide range of products such as coffees, teas and chocolates.

Their range of products includes coffees, teas, chocolates and powdered elixirs. All of them are made with adaptogenic mushrooms such as cordyceps, tremella, lion’s mane, reishi or agaricus, as well as with extracts and roots of oriental plants.

One of the most outstanding is Café Focus, a 100% Arabica organic coffee made with three adaptogenic mushrooms: lion’s mane, reishi and agaricus. Its main benefits include alertness and concentration. It offers aromatic notes of dark chocolate and ripe fruit.

Underlying all these products is a clear purpose: to revolutionise the Traditional Chinese Medicine experience by demystifying it, simplifying it, modernising it and making it accessible to Western consumers.

As Sabrina Azzi, one of the CEOs, explains, the Cokare range is very beneficial for the body:

“We have products to boost the immune system, aid digestion, help us sleep, give us extra energy and clarity or improve the condition of our skin that fit perfectly into our eating routine. It’s as simple as drinking tea, coffee or chocolate. We also have powdered elixirs that allow us to bring all these properties to the dishes we cook, something that chefs such as Carme Ruscalleda are already doing”.

However, unlike other brands of similar products, Cokare only uses the fruiting body of the mushroom, as it contains the highest concentration of active ingredients. Also as part of the manufacturing process, they explain that it consists of a double extraction that removes impurities and obtains high levels of such beneficial components as beta-glucans and polysaccharides.

About Cokare

Cokare was founded by three entrepreneurs from different continents brought together by China. There they became fascinated by the wellness benefits achieved through traditional medicine and herbalist wisdom. They are Sabrina Azzi (French living in Barcelona), Victoria Colangelo (American) and Susy Xiang (Chinese).
